The pearl of white water sports, this is one of the last rivers to preserve an entirely natural running speed as there is no barrage on its course. The water level fluctuates with thaws and rainfalls. The river offers more than 50 kilometres of navigable runs from class 1 to 6 (maximum difficulty).These characteristics make the Ubaye a unique river of great renown. Every year, white water sport enthusiasts come from all over Europe to rub shoulders with it.
The valley of Ubaye is also an exceptional playground for many other outdoors activities such as hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, mountain climbing, and also skiing in winter time.
